1. Negeri Sembilan Museum

The Negeri Sembilan Museum is brimming with history, from the European invasions to traditional Malaysian weapons, local artefacts, and vibrant cultural exhibits. It showcases well-preserved local crafts and traditions of Negeri Sembilan, offering a glimpse of this sleepy state's heritage for the world to marvel at.

Its main building and the two wooden stilt houses, the Rumah Negeri Sembilan (Negeri Sembilan House) and the Istana Ampang Tinggi (also known as the Ampang Tinggi Palace) boast Minangkabau architecture that is constructed completely of wood without metal nails, a distinctive type of cultural architecture which you can easily identify via the upward pointed tips of its rooftop.

What is more fascinating about the two wooden stilt houses is they were initially located in another part of Negeri Sembilan, but were transported whole and reconstructed at the local state museum. If you take a closer look at the walls of the Ampang Tinggi Palace, you'll also notice beautifully well-carved foliage panels on its outer walls.

The overall design of the museum makes it a beautiful place for photographers to capture the unique characteristics and architecture of the Minangkabau culture, and for cultural buffs to take in the beauty of the place.

Looking for a family-friendly activity? Then the Jelita Ostrich Farm is a must-add into your itinerary. The Jelita Ostrich Farm is certified by the Malaysian Book of Records as Malaysia's first ostrich farm, and it is conveniently located just under 90 minutes away from Kuala Lumpur.

While it's called an "ostrich farm", the Jelita Ostrich Farm is actually a petting zoo that is also home to animals like geese, ducks, turkeys, goats, and horses. The farm offers visitors ostrich rides at a small fee while selling an exclusive range of ostrich products, essences, and souvenirs.

Aside from the promise of a unique experience in Malaysia, the ostrich farm also offers an educational tour where the site's experienced staff shares about the habitat of the ostriches and how to collect the ostrich eggs for breeding. 5. Centipede Temple

The Centipede Temple, also known as Then Tze Koon Temple, is found on Wu Gong Hill. Before you get any odd ideas on its name, the Centipede Temple is said to be named as such because centipedes freely roamed in and out of the temple grounds during the founding days of the temple where the surrounding land was filled with rubber trees.

You will need to ascend 264 steps to reach this Taoist temple, where you can bask in the tranquil atmosphere and enjoy the stunning panoramic views of Seremban from one of the city's higher spots.

The main attraction of this tourist attraction would be the large centipede stone statue. Many couples also like to come here to pray to the God of Marriage, Lord Yue Lao, for a long-lasting union.

Aside from the impressive centipede statue, the Centipede Temple also has other attractions worth checking out, such as the tortoise pool, the Eight Immortals, a koi pond, gardens, and the Guan Yin statue. The temple also has a Qing Dynasty bell crafted in 1863, a drum, and beautiful lanterns, adding to the historical ambiance.

With the Centipede Temple being a religious spot, please do ensure proper etiquette during your visit here such as keeping noise to a minimum, dressing modestly, showing respect to the resident priests, and to maintain the tranquility of the temple grounds.
